Every year there is a group of us that go on a fall whitetail hunting trip. This year we chose to hunt with Donny and his team at Big Slick Whitetails. Right away we were impressed with his kindness and attention to detail. Accommodations were great, guides were very experienced, and everyone made sure we had the best time possible! It's not always easy to accommodate a group of 7, but Donny's team made it happen.
Personally, I was able to connect on an awesome 10-point buck! I had a late Saturday afternoon opportunity on this deer and the recovery went into dark, but everything about this hunt was spot on. I would recommend Donny and the crew at Big Slick Whitetails to anyone who is looking for a true Texas whitetail hunt. I know we already made plans to go back in 2023!

Big Slick Whitetails provided me and my son an excellent hunt. The accommodations were second to none providing us with the guest house which is really nice and brand new. We ate excellent home-cooked food and even had smores out by the campfire at night. It was a weekend my boy will never forget! On top of all that we hunted hard and got both deer we were hunting which was a great success. My deer were quartered up and put on ice, all I had to do was drive to the processor with my cooler. All in all it was a great experience and I cannot wait to go back next year. I would recommend this outfit to anyone wanting to experience a great whitetail hunt!

What a great experience. Accommodations are great. Awesome hunting lodge with all you could ask for. The hunting experience was great. You will see a lot of great whitetails on this place. Mr. Donny is a very honest man and was great with the kids. He was very accommodating and willing to do whatever needed to be done for the kids to have a successful hunt. If you're looking for a good hunt with a family friendly environment, this is your place.

Can’t say enough about our family youth hunt. My second visit to the Big Slick Whitetail Ranch and again it did not disappoint. My grandson took his first buck and made a lifetime of memories he will never forget. I believe Donny was just as excited as we were for the kids to come hunt and harvest their first bucks. Thank you for that Donny, shows your passion and importance for family to enjoy the great outdoors together. The kids had plenty of deer to watch and see how they interact with each other. This was a great learning experience for them. We discussed aging and scoring deer on the hoof and feeding patterns. Before the hunt Donny reached out to me several times sending pictures and discussing our upcoming hunt, making sure he was doing everything he needed to do for a successful hunt. If you are looking for a family friendly, exciting place to harvest a mature deer and spend time with good, God-fearing people this is your place. I highly recommend it and will be returning again. Thank you, Donny, for making this hunt more than we could have ever expected.

Donny exceeded my expectations in every field. I contacted him about myself & my wife shooting a cull buck with our bows and he was very professional and able to accommodate us. He planned ahead of time with the stand and feeder so that our shots would be within range. We saw tons of amazing bucks out on his ranch and look forward to next year!

What a great hunt! From the minute I walked in the lodge Donny treated me more like family than a client. It took us a couple of days to find the deer we had targeted but Donny was relentless in getting the deer patterned for the best opportunity for a harvest. There was never much down time in the blind. Seen plenty of mature bucks all day long. I was able to harvest a large-bodied Texas native deer 5.5 year beautiful 8 point with 5-inch bases 10-inch G’2’s. 7-inch G’3. 21-inch main beams 15 inches wide. Score 127 7/8”. Really enjoyed the ranch. The lodging was more than comfortable, and the food was good. Can’t wait to see how the bucks look next year and plan my next hunt.

This is my first year strictly sticking to archery and I couldn’t pick a better place to take a deer with my bow. You will definitely see a great quantity of quality animals and have a chance to take your shot. I was able to harvest an amazing deer and create memories with my family that will last a lifetime as well as fill the freezer! A HUGE thanks to Donny at Big Slick Whitetails!

I had an absolute blast with Donny and Robert. I highly recommend if you're looking for a stud of a buck. I literally harvested the largest deer of my life with a score of 153 ³/⁸ and weight of 240 pounds. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing my trophy once back from the taxidermist. Thanks again!
